Collection Commander

Curate your collection, your way.

Shopify collections can be tricky to manage once they're set up, more so than during their creation. Issues include late-night changes for sales launches, difficulty creating featured collections based on color or size, and the double management of collections and menus when trying to implement a hierarchical structure.

Collection Commander is an app that centralizes and automates the management of Shopify collections. It allows you to handle publishing schedules, parent-child structures, and navigation menus all from a single screen.

Currently, the app is preparing for release.

ProblemCommon Problems

Are you experiencing any of these issues with your collection operations?

01

Every time there's a sale, I manually publish and unpublish collections late at night or on weekends.

02

I want to create a featured collection that filters by color or attribute, such as "red products only," but I can't set it up by variant from the admin screen.

03

Creating parent and child categories would mean managing collections and navigation menus in two places.

04

After creating a collection, you must also manually reflect it in the theme's navigation menu.

ConceptThree axes

Ultimately, there are three main concerns when it comes to collections. Collection Commander offers dedicated features for each of these three concerns.

Structure

Structure

How to organize your collections. Create a parent-child structure to provide up to three levels of navigation menus in a continuous flow.

Granularity

Granularity

What to include in the collection. You can narrow down the items not only by product but also by variants based on color and category attributes.

Timing

Timing

When to display the collection. You can schedule it to be public or private by date and time, and set start and end times.

FeaturesKey Features

01

Release Schedule

If you specify a date and time, the collection will automatically switch between public and private at that time. It supports "paired reservations" where you set an end date and time together, allowing you to "publish only during the sale period" in a single operation. Dates and times are handled in the store's time zone, and the execution results can be checked on the history screen. If it fails, you will be notified by email.

02

Create Collection

You can create a filtered collection at the variant level based on color and category attributes. You can also specify price, stock, and weight as additional conditions, and choose whether multiple conditions "all must be met" or "any must be met." You can preview the target products before creating the collection, eliminating the need for rework after creation. You can also group existing collections into a parent-child structure.

03

Menu Creation

Build a collection into a navigation menu with up to 3 levels, and generate it as a standard Shopify menu. The display name can be set separately from the collection name, so long names can be shortened. After generating it, simply select that menu in the theme editor to apply it.

FAQFAQ
What time zone does the reserved time operate in?

This is the time zone set for the store. A store in Japan (Asia/Tokyo) will operate on Japan Standard Time. Please note that there may be an error of about one minute in execution, so if a strict second-by-second switch is required, we recommend specifying the time with some leeway.

Can I change my reservation details later?

There is no editing function for reservations. Please cancel your current reservation and create a new one. For pair reservations, you can cancel the start and end times individually.

If I generate a menu, will it be displayed in the store immediately?

Generating the menu alone will not make it appear. After generation, you will need to select that menu in the theme editor. The generated menu is a standard Shopify navigation menu, so you can also view and edit it from the admin screen.

Can 3-level menus be displayed with any theme?

The menu itself is created as a standard Shopify navigation and is therefore available in all themes. However, whether the third level can be displayed as a dropdown depends on the theme's implementation. We have confirmed it works with Horizon. If it doesn't display, you can still use a 2-level structure.

Can I use it in English?

The administration screen supports both Japanese and English. You can switch the language at any time from "Language" in the settings. This does not affect the display of the storefront.

Is there a free trial?

All paid plans include a 14-day free trial. Charges are combined with your Shopify bill, so there's no need to enter your credit card information in this app.

Will the buyer's personal information be obtained?

We do not acquire or store them. The only permissions we request are those necessary for manipulating collections and navigation menus.

What happens to the collections and menus I created if I uninstall the app?

It remains in the store exactly as is; the app does not delete it. While all pending scheduled tasks are cancelled, published collections do not become private and menus do not disappear, so the store's appearance to customers remains unchanged.

Which Shopify plan can I use this with?

This feature is available on the Basic plan and higher. It does not work with plans such as Starter or Retail that do not include an online store (storefront).
